Bacodi through savings group gives communities the capacity to be self-sufficient. The Bacodi supported savings program has proven that families – especially women – who have gained financial independence are able to live more fulfilling lives, lift their communities out of poverty and free themselves from other social challenges, like gender-based violence.

The group is comprised of 24 people who save together and take small loans from those savings. Bacodi members with basic financial services and business skills training that enable them to upscale economic activities, improve household welfare, start new businesses and educate their children. As a result, are helping to increase the overall quality of life for many poor and vulnerable women and their families.

Single mother lost her home when it burned down in an early morning fire in Mbale. The single mother, 28, lived with her children after her husband passed away in March due to an illness. On Monday, they were shocked when a fire broke out at her home at around 6am. Literally everything they had in the house is obviously very damaged by smoke. They literally have the clothes on the back. I am not sure how it happened. The books, beddings, clothes, beds and furniture and all household ware. Everything they have is gone.”
Bacodi has tried to help the family through giving them some household items and clothes. However we as BACODI we can not do this all alone, please donate
